Legendary Nollywood actor Fabian Adibe passed away. He was most recognized for his performance in the NTA rendition of the classic novel “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe.

The actor passed away quietly in the wee hours of Wednesday. He will be 82 years old in February 2025.

In a social media post, Seun Oloketuyi, CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON), confirmed his passing. The actor from “Things Fall Apart,” Fabian Adibe, passed away. On social media, Oloketuyi wrote, “Died this morning at 2:30 am.”

Adibe’s renowned performance in the adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart” garnered him a great deal of praise, and generations of spectators were won over by his composed manner and stirring performances.

Beginning his playing career in 1987 in the critically acclaimed Nigerian television series “Things Fall Apart,” the actor and television personality led Nigeria to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965.

He costarred with Pete Edochie in the role of Ogbuefi Uzowulu. Sam Loco Efe and Justus Esiri, his other series co-stars, are now dead.

Adibe, who was born on December 1, 1943, was one of the elder actors who helped establish Nollywood. He was well-known for his charisma and commanding presence, which frequently added legitimacy and a sense of gravity.

He appeared in more than 300 films, such as Father’s (2014), White Kingdom 2 (2014), and Slave Warrior (2012).

The renowned actor starred in international motion pictures, such as the Hollywood production Mr. Johnson and the South African struggle story Soweto. Prior to his layoff on May 25, 1984, he worked for the Nigerian Television Authority.
