A newly constructed maternal and child health clinic in Juapong has been put into service by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the minister of foreign affairs and member of parliament for North Tongu, as part of initiatives to enhance healthcare delivery in the area.
Mr. Ablakwa thanked the Engage Africa Now Foundation for their collaboration, which allowed the facility to be built and fully furnished in just six months, in a message posted on his Facebook page.
He also disclosed that he personally contributed every piece of medical equipment needed to get the clinic up and running right now.
“This facility has the capacity for 3,000 safe deliveries in a year and would tremendously improve maternal health outcomes,” Ablakwa stated.

The MP for North Tongu also took the opportunity to announce a number of future development projects that have been approved for the constituency, such as significant bridges, road building, school infrastructure, and teacher housing.
He also revealed that plans have been put in place for all BECE candidates in the constituency to receive free results checks, with his office paying for them.
Mr. Ablakwa gave the people of North Tongu the assurance that more development projects will be implemented under former President John Mahama’s Reset Agenda, notwithstanding his demanding national and international duties.
“My beloved North Tongu shall receive its fair share of development… More to come,” he emphasized.
