Shariff Abdulai, popularly known as “Cristos,” was given a life sentence by the Wa High Court for killing Issah Yahaya and twenty-two other people.
The convict admitted to killing sixteen persons in Wa, five in Bole, and one each in Banda Nkwanta and Bamboi, according to a statement released by the Upper West Regional Police Command on Wednesday, March 4.
On October 6, 2025, Shariff Abdulai was taken into custody after the police conducted extensive intelligence-driven operations and investigations.
The District Magistrate Court committed him, and on March 4, 2026, he was arraigned before the High Court in Washington. The accused entered a guilty plea to the accusation while being represented by legal counsel.
Based on his own plea, His Lordship Justice Osei-Wusu Antwi, the presiding judge, condemned him to life in prison with hard labour.
The Nsawam Medium Security Prison is where the prisoner will serve his term.
