A stolen vehicle and other items have been found by the Ghana Police Service after an intelligence-led investigation into a domestic robbery case.

Police stated in a press release released by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on February 11, 2026, that the discovery comes after enquiries into an armed robbery that took place on December 4, 2025.

The complainant’s Toyota Hilux pickup, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and other personal items were taken by armed males who attacked her in her room, according to the police.

Following weeks of diligent intelligence collection, officers located a suspect who was identified as Clement Kofi Aidoo, who also went by the identities Joseph Abequaye, Yaw, and Paddy.

According to the police, the suspect was shot and hurt when he tried to attack authorities during the operation.

He was sent to the Police Hospital for treatment, but while there, he was declared dead.

Following a search, the complainant’s cell phone, the stolen Toyota Hilux, and a number of documents were found on the suspect.

Subsequent enquiries showed that the same suspect reportedly stole a police officer’s Toyota Camry in November 2025.

According to reports, he was recruited by the officer to take care of his father, who was ill. The suspect abandoned the car after a police pursuit, and it was later found in the Central Region.

The public has been reassured by the Ghana Police Service of its ongoing dedication to breaking up criminal organisations, recovering stolen property, and making sure those responsible for violent crimes face justice.
