A recommended academic schedule for elementary schools for the 2023–2024 school year has been released by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
For the three terms, this suggested academic schedule has a 38-week length. The first term will begin on October 3, 2023, and end on December 21, 2023. It will last for 12 weeks.
After a brief vacation, the second term will start on January 9, 2024, run for 14 weeks, and end on April 11, 2024. From May 7 to July 25, 2024, the third term will last 12 weeks.
For elementary schools, this term will mark the end of the academic year.
The academic year will come to an end in basic schools after this term. Therefore, in order to guarantee that the children have a seamless and successful academic year, the GES has advised Parents, stakeholders, and all other interested parties to take note of these dates.
