On the evening of Saturday, July 19, 2025, AICO II Japhet Boateng Kyei, an officer with the Ghana Immigration Service, was killed after he was hit by a speeding car close to the Accra Arts Centre.
The cop reportedly parked his car and crossed the street to help a stranded motorist whose car had broken down.
He was struck by a Hyundai Veloster with registration number DV 9050Y-25 as he was trying to get back to his car after successfully providing assistance.
