The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reiterated his commitment to guaranteeing a peaceful electoral process in Ghana.
The former president of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, made this commitment during a meeting at the Jubilee House while leading a team from the West African Elders Forum (WAEF).
The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation’s WAEF program works to advance democracy, security, and peace in the subregion.
H.E. Kadre Desire Quadraago, the former president of the ECOWAS Commission, is part of Dr. Jonathan’s group, which is in Ghana on a pre-election mission to encourage peaceful elections.
Dr. Bawumia underlined Ghana’s standing as one of the sub-region’s most peaceful nations and reaffirmed his commitment to upholding this unity and peace.
This pledge is consistent with his earlier remarks, in which he emphasized that the pursuit of political power shouldn’t impede the advancement of the country.
The NPP has continuously shown that it is dedicated to holding peaceful elections, and Bawumia has reiterated this promise in a number of public appearances.
He called on Ghanaians to make sure that the 13th Annual Night of Power has a peaceful electoral process in April 2024.
