Ahead of Saturday’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries, Samuel Ayeh-Paye, a former Eastern Regional Campaign Coordinator for former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen, has announced his support for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

The former legislator for the Ayensuano Constituency claims that Dr. Bawumia is still the sole strong contender.

Four presidential candidates are vying to lead the party to the general elections in 2024, including Dr. Bawumia.

At the national delegates conference on Saturday, November 4, 2023, more than 200,000 delegates are anticipated to select the party’s presidential candidate.

The candidates are Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, a former agricultural minister, Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, MP for Assin Central, and Francis Addae-Nimoh, a former Mampong member of parliament.

Speaking on the Adekye Nsroma Morning Show on United Television (UTV), Mr. Ayeh-Paye, however, highlighted that he and his supporters have chosen Dr. Bawumia after consulting extensively in his constituency.
