Given his track record of employment creation, Movement for Change founder and leader Alan Kyerematen has asserted that he is the most qualified candidate to lead Ghana in 2024.
The former Trade Minister claims that during his administration, the government launched the one district one factory (1D1F) program, which gave young people funding to launch their own enterprises.
“Before I left government, I introduced what was called enable youth under 1D1F and what I did was that, I put together groups of young people in various communities and government helps them to set up companies, a limited liability company and then government provided seed money for them to acquire equipment and also provided working capital”. he reiterated.
He went on to say that the government also gave management services to businesses so they might become these businesses’ management teams. And as a result, we were able to create 58 medium-sized, youth-owned 1D1F firms that process agricultural products.
In an interview with CitiFM in Accra, Mr. Kyerematen added that he is the ideal candidate to lead the nation and that there is a formula for producing jobs.
In order to carry out this program, he is pleading with Ghanaians to vote for him when he comes into office in December 2024.
He underlined, “If we continue such an initiative it will provide thousands of youth jobs and opportunities to build a better future as business owners”.
After losing the presidential primary, Alan Kyerematen left the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He is running as an independent in the 2024 general election with the goal of breaking the NPP/NDC duopoly.
