Dj Azonto has been directed by the head of new media for the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign team to collect his royalties from the DJs who played his song throughout the campaign trail.
In his official campaign videos, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia claims not to have used any other person’s song.
Krobea Kwabena Asante suggested on social media that artists should contact the Djs who work as hired goons at the different campaign locations if they have any problems.
He said they are aware of intellectual property and copyright regulations and will work with any artist as needed.
His remark follows DJ Azonto’s press release, in which he demands $10 million in restitution from the New Patriotic Party Flagbearer for exploiting his music in a prominent campaign.
