Dr. Prince Hamid Armah MP, the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Works and Housing in Ghana, unveiled the digital platform for the Rent Control Department earlier today.
Its primary goals are to improve and streamline Department operations.
Recall that on July 15, 2020, His Excellency, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, conducted a working visit to the Rent Control Department, where he saw firsthand the lengthy lines of residents awaiting basic services in the rental establishment.
In order to improve accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness to public requirements, the Vice President promised to digitize Department activities.
Phase 1 of this game-changing project is complete, and it involves digitizing 15 of the Department’s offices located throughout 11 districts of Ghana.
The Rent Control Department can be more effectively and transparently interacted with by both landlords and tenants through the portal www.rentcontrol.mwh.gov.gh, which serves as a one-stop shop for all rent-related transactions.
In order to improve their renting experience, the Deputy Minister advised Ghanaians to embrace this digital future and utilize the platform to its fullest.
