Following the passing of an NDC member in a traffic accident, former president John Dramani Mahama had to temporarily halt his campaigning in Assin North.

For the impending by-election, Mahama, who is in the area to support James Gyakye Quayson, the ousted MP for Assin North, paid visits to those hurt in the collision and the family of the deceased.

“After our engagement at Dansame, I was forced to stop my campaigning in Assin North for almost two hours to visit injured supporters who were engaged in an accident.

We tragically lost a fellow comrade who passionately encouraged others to join the program. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family,” Mahama wrote in a message on June 17, 2023, Saturday.
