The Ga Traditional Council has declared that a noise-making prohibition would be in effect beginning on Monday, May 6, and ending on Thursday, June 6.

This is in advance of the yearly Homowo celebration.

The Ga State is prohibited from generating noise in any way, according to a statement issued by Ga Mantse and King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, President of the Ga Traditional Council.

This covers hand clapping, tambourines, drums, loudspeakers, and other musical instruments.

The message further underlined that festive gatherings and funeral rites are prohibited during this time.

Megaphone use, roadside evangelism, and the placement of loudspeakers outside of mosques and churches are also forbidden.

The Ga Traditional Council announced the formation of a task group in cooperation with REGSEC and several metropolitan, municipal, and district legislatures in order to properly enforce the ban.

This task group will cooperate with security and law enforcement organizations to guarantee that the ban is followed.
