Three Ghanaian traders who were hurt in a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso have been successfully evacuated, according to a statement from the military’s Department of Public Relations.
When the traders were conducting business in the next country on Saturday, February 14, 2026, they were caught up in the attack.
The evacuation operation was conducted by the Ghana Air Force on Tuesday, February 17, as part of the government’s coordinated humanitarian and security response to protect Ghanaians living overseas.
The injured traders were taken back to Ghana after the operation, where they are currently being treated and examined by doctors at the 37 Military Hospital.
The military also sent condolences to families who lost loved ones and wished the injured a speedy recovery to all impacted by the tragedy.
