A high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini, headed by Hon. Jabulani Mabuza, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, was received by the Ghanaian Parliament today as part of an attempt to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation and information exchange between the two countries.

The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, welcomed the group, which is in Ghana on a benchmarking tour, and emphasized the two nations’ shared commitment to promoting democracy, accountability, and good governance.

“Though our nations differ in size and constitutional evolution, our parliaments bear the same responsibility—to serve the people, ensure transparency, and safeguard national interests,” Speaker Bagbin stated.

It is anticipated that the Eswatini delegation will research the Parliamentary Service Board of Ghana’s operations and best practices, with an emphasis on legislative efficiency and institutional building.

Improved collaboration in legislative reforms, capacity building, and collaborative lobbying on continental and international platforms are among the anticipated outcomes of the visit.

The commitment of both parties to upholding democratic governance and enhancing Africa’s influence in global affairs was reiterated.
