President John Dramani Mahama was greeted ceremoniously on Monday at the Belarusian Presidential Palace, where he conducted bilateral talks with his Belarusian counterpart, President Alexander Lukashenko, as part of his State Visit to Belarus.

Three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aiming at enhancing collaboration between Ghana and Belarus in important areas of mutual interest were signed as a result of the engagements, according to a statement released by Ghana’s presidency.

It stated that the agreements include the creation of a Joint Commission for interaction in Trade and Economic Affairs, improved interaction between the two nations’ respective Chambers of Commerce, and agricultural cooperation.

It stated that Mr. Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture; Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, Ghana’s Ambassador to Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus, signed the Memorandums of Understanding on the Ghanaian side.

It stated that the agreements demonstrate Ghana and Belarus’s mutual commitment to strengthen bilateral connections, increase economic prospects, and promote collaboration in areas that promote sustainable growth and development.
