At the 249th U.S. Independence Day celebration in Accra, Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts and Ketu South Member of Parliament, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, represented Ghana and reaffirmed the close friendship and shared democratic values between Ghana and the United States.

Honoring the U.S. for its global leadership in liberty, democracy, and innovation—values Ghana is proud to share—Hon. Gomashie spoke on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana. He also acknowledged the impact of AGOA in empowering SMEs and increasing Ghanaian exports, and he called for even more inclusive development and people-to-people ties.

Rolf Olson, the Charge d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Ghana, praised both nations’ democratic journeys and underlined the importance of ongoing cooperation in trade, security, education, and health.

Together, the two countries reaffirmed their dedication to closer cooperation and enduring friendship.
