On May 8 and 9, 2023, the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization will hold the Girls-In-ICT project in Damongo, the Savanna Region’s capital.
The Minister of Communication & Digitalization, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, stated in an interview with Class 93.1 FM in Damongo that her ministry works in the Savanna Region to encourage young females to enroll in career courses in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
She revealed that her ministry had expanded the International Communication Union’s (ICU) Girls-In-ICT initiative.
She pointed out that since the ICT sector is dominated by men, the initiative’s goal is to guarantee that every girl kid worldwide receives an ICT education.
A total of 1,000 girls have received ICT training, she continued, and the project will be completed at the Damongo community center on May 8 and 9, 2023.
She clarified that the top-performing girls would get cash awards, computers, plaques, certificates of participation, and other presents.
