President John Mahama has congratulated the Black Stars following their 5-0 victory against Chad in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
The President warned the players against complacency following Friday’s significant victory at the Accra Sports Stadium in a message on X, formerly Twitter.
Antoine Semenyo gave Ghana the lead in the second minute as they dominated the first half.
Iñaki Williams extended the lead in the 31st minute as the Stars persisted in pressing, and their efforts were rewarded. Ghana’s lead was further increased in the 36th minute when Jordan Ayew converted a penalty kick.
Mohammed Salisu gave the Black Stars a goal in the 56th minute to keep them ahead in the second half. Ernest Nuamah’s goal in the 68th minute completed the Ghanaian team’s outstanding performance and sealed the victory.
