If the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the 2024 elections, former president John Dramani Mahama has pledged to lead a fierce campaign against corruption in the party’s future administration.
The NDC flag bearer candidate promised to deal with corrupt practices during his administration regardless of a person’s party affiliation when speaking to NDC delegates at Garu in the Upper East Region.
We all know that corruption is one of the waste pipes in this country, so when NDC takes office, we are going to start a strong fight against it. He continued: “People who appropriate the money of the state must be brought to book and sanctioned, and NDC is going to do that.”
“We will ensure that the sword is swung equally and that anyone who takes the people’s money must suffer for it, regardless of whether the people are our own or from another party.”
If he wins reelection as president in the 2024 elections, Mr. Mahama also pledged to fix the National Health Insurance Scheme and the flawed Free SHS program of Akufo-Addo.
He claimed that revising the two laws would improve the policies and improve the lot of Ghanaians.
“Free SHS is not functioning effectively; parents are not receiving the advantage that is intended for them. I can tell you right now that the amount of money we spend on our kids’ education is far higher than when we used to pay school fees.
“We are going to fix the free SHS, make it better, and set up a situation where, when school resumes, all the kids will go there together and leave together to go home.”
