As we improved governance and infrastructure across important tertiary education institutions yesterday, it was a momentous day for the Ministry of Education.

At its offices in Accra, the recently built Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) Conference Hall was previously inaugurated by the Honorable Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education.

Dedicated to Dr. Paul Effah, the state-of-the-art venue is fully air-conditioned, well-equipped, and features tiny halls for stakeholder engagements and breakout sessions.

In addition, previous GTEC directors were honored for their devoted service to the Commission and the country during the occasion.

The newly established Governing Councils of three prestigious universities were later launched by the Minister:

– Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM)

– Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU)

– Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)

In guiding their institutions toward excellence, Hon. Iddrisu tasked the council members with upholding high norms of accountability, openness, and governance.

He underlined how crucial it is to maintain strategic leadership, prudent resource management, and alignment with the government’s goal of providing high-quality, inclusive, and future-ready postsecondary education.

The Ministry is still dedicated to bolstering the leadership structures and physical facilities that support Ghana’s educational system.
