Kennedy Agyapong emphasized that he fully respects the election results and described the National Delegates Conference, which selected Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, as fair and transparent.
The election’s runner-up, Mr. Agyapong, observed that the Election Committee had done a good job and that the results accurately reflected the wishes of the electorate.
“I must admit the election was fair. And I accept the results,” he declared in his acceptance speech.
He then promised to support the victor, Dr. Bawumia, in his campaign to defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the general elections in 2024.
61.43% of the legitimate votes cast went to Dr. Bawumia, who won.Francis Addai Nimoh finished last with 0.41%, followed by Ken Agyapong in second place with 37.41%, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto in third place with 0.76%.
Dr. Bawumia has been declared the NPP’s presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections by the Electoral Commission.
