The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that Ghana and the New Patriotic Party will compete in the 2024 election.
According to him, the NDC is not running because the Ghanaian people need to start again and get their country out of the turmoil that the NPP has thrown it into.
Speaking at the late former Information Minister John Tia’s funeral in the Upper East Region was the former President.
“Because John was a true party man I will be a bit political. We are determined to win this election. We are determined to win this election not for ourselves, not for the NDC but we are winning this election for Ghana.
This election is between Ghana and NPP, not NPP and NDC because we need to reset our nation, rescue our nation from the crisis it has been plunged by the NPP administration,” he said.
The former president expressed confidence in the NDC’s victory in the 2024 elections, saying that his party will not be the source of any violence.
In addition to preaching peace before, during, and after the election, he asked the clergy to preach justice, announcing that the NDC would rebuff any attempt to rig the results by the Electoral Commission and the ruling party.
