Ernest Yaw Anim, the newly elected Kumawu MP, has received congratulations from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for winning the by-election on Tuesday.
Mr. Anim received 15,364 votes, defeating Kwasi Amankwaa of the NDC who received 3,723. Independent candidate Kwaku Duah, who was expected to pull off an unexpected victory, failed not live up to expectations and received only 2,478 votes.
Kwaku Duah, another independent candidate, received a pitiful 62 votes.
Dr. Bawumia congratulated Mr. Anim in a Facebook post and urged him to represent Kumawu honorably in Parliament.
