The Ghana National Association of Queenmothers, also referred to as the Unity Queens in Accra, met with the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts at the National Theatre of Ghana.
In addition to welcoming her into office, the Queenmothers called the gathering to address concerns of violence against women, growth, development, and women’s empowerment.

According to a statement from the Hon. Minister, Queenmothers have proven their dedication and tenacity over the years by using their platforms to support campaigns to stop child marriage, female genital mutilation, and the elimination of sanitary pad levies, among other causes.
Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, a member of the Association of Queenmothers, stated that the organization wants to use their vehicle to spread knowledge and engage with the people in their different localities.
According to her, queen moms may contribute to changing the tourist industry by utilizing our rich national culture to create goods that represent Ghana both domestically and abroad.
Consequently, she urged them to preserve the customs and culture for the next generation.
She committed to working with the ministries of Chietaincy, Education, and Local Government to enable the Queenmothers to advance women and girls in the fields of business and education.
The Ghana National Association of Queenmothers’ founder, Nana Adjoa Akyaa Awindor, praised Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie for her support over the years and for being appointed Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.

She reaffirmed the association’s significant contribution to the development of the local community by promoting vital causes that impact women and children, including drug abuse, human trafficking, teen pregnancy, child marriage, and menstrual hygiene.
She ended by promising to support their communities’ socioeconomic growth and financial empowerment while making sure that our country’s customs and culture continue to be vibrant and relevant.
