Mohammed Osman, Chairman of Polling Station Darul-Salem Islamic School, Wurishie in the Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern Region, has been instructed not to hold himself out as such by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This comes after Mr. Osman’s indefinite suspension from the party.

“On Friday, July 21, 2023, an act of property destruction was reported to have occurred at the Sagnarigu Constituency office.

In a letter to the suspended polling station chairman, the party claimed that the event was an effort to vent anger toward certain candidates running in the constituency’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

According to the letter, “Everyone has the right to express their disagreement within the party, but there are specific procedures for doing so.”

Furthermore, it stated: “Unfortunately, you chose to take matters into your own hands by vandalizing party property rather than complying with established procedures.

“This kind of conduct is unacceptable and is in violation of the Party Constitution’s Article 4 Subsection 8, (1 and 2).”

“You are hereby directed not to hold yourself or represent the party in any capacity during the suspension period,” the letter continued.
