The New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, has declared that the Manhyia South parliamentary primary election would take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

This news follows the revelation that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, the current Member of Parliament (MP) for the seat, would be the party’s running mate in the 2019 general elections.

He made hints that nominations will start on Monday, July 8, 2024, and conclude on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, with the election taking place on Sunday, July 14. The statement was signed by the party secretary on Friday, July 5.

“An aspiring parliamentary candidate (APC) shall procure nominations forms after the payment of a non-refundable applicating fee of GH¢3000 in bankers draft in favour of the NPP national headquarters, Accra.”

“To successfully file the nomination, an APC shall pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢35,000 in bankers draft in favour of the NPP, Headquarters, Accra,” he stated.

“This means they will be required to pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH17,500. To ensure clarity, we define a youth as an individual between the ages of 18 and 40,” he added.

Women, young people, and people with disabilities (PWDs) would receive a 50% discount on the filing expenses, according to Justin Kodua.
