On November 19, 2022, a DAF truck and five other cars were involved in a collision in Bogoso, Western Region, which resulted in one person being officially pronounced dead and four others being injured.
According to a police inquiry, the DAF truck’s driver lost control when negotiating a curve near Bogoso while hauling logs from the Prestea end of the road, causing the logs to fall on the five other cars.
The MTTD has staff on the property, and traffic is now allowed on the road, according to a statement from the police.
The victims who are allegedly trapped in the accident vehicles are being rescued with the help of the Ghana National Fire Service.
The DAF truck’s fugitive driver is being sought out so that he or she can be brought to justice, according to ongoing efforts.
