The next scheduled meeting of parliament is for Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

The House will reconvene in an unexpected site, the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The fifth meeting of the fourth session will be temporarily moved due to ongoing renovations in the main chamber of Parliament.

In a statement released on Monday, September 30, 2024, Speaker of the House Alban Bagbin confirmed the modification and informed MPs that the House will continue to convene at the AICC for legislative business while the chamber was being repaired.

Parliament recently accepted a USD 250 million loan from the World Bank to support the Ghana Energy Sector Recovery Programme during a two-day emergency session held at the Dome.

The loan, which had been turned down earlier in the recess, was a major factor in the recall of lawmakers on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

This financial assistance is essential to stabilizing Ghana’s energy industry, which has seen numerous difficulties lately.

The loan will assist the government in putting measures into place that will enhance the nation’s energy supply and operational effectiveness.
