Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the majority leader in parliament, has refuted reports that President John Dramani Mahama traveled to the United Arab Emirates recently on a private jet.
The former defense minister, Dominic Nitiwul, made the assertions, which sparked a discussion about the president’s vacation plans.
Dr. Ato Forson refuted the claim during his Wednesday speech in Parliament, claiming that he personally traveled with President Mahama on a commercial Emirates flight.
“I travelled with President Mahama on his recent trip to the UAE, and he didn’t use a private jet. I was on the flight with him, and we used Emirates,” Dr. Forson clarified.
Dr. Forson demanded that evidence be provided to support the accusations, challenging the former defense minister to support his claim.
“‘Mr Speaker, the immediate past Defence Minister claimed that the President used a rented private jet, and I challenge him to bring evidence now,”
