President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia invited President John Dramani Mahama to come to Lusaka, Zambia, for a three-day state visit.
President Hichilema greeted him at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambia. Her Excellency Elizabeth Nyantakyi, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Zambia, and other officials were also present at the airport.
Along with First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama and other officials, President Mahama will meet with President Hichilema in a bilateral meeting to discuss issues of mutual interest. These topics include bolstering diplomatic ties, improving trade and investment cooperation, and investigating joint venture possibilities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He is also slated to lay a wreath at Embassy Park in Lusaka in memory of the Southern African country’s fallen warriors.

The visit will culminate in a presentation to Zambia’s National Assembly, when he is scheduled to outline Ghana’s vision for a more integrated and prosperous Africa.
Dr. Callistus Mahama, the President’s Secretary; Mrs. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the President’s Special Aide and Presidential Advisor; Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, the President’s Legal Counsel; and Stan Xoese Dogbe, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, are also part of his group.
These include the following: Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State for Government Communications; Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) as Foreign Affairs Minister; Haruna Iddrisu (MP) as Education Minister; Samuel Nartey George (MP) as Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Minister; and Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey (MP) as Gender, Children, and Social Protection Minister.
