President John Dramani Mahama has vehemently denounced the alleged abuse of journalists by Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) personnel.

He called the behavior intolerable and stated unequivocally that it will not be accepted.

President Mahama declared that he has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident while speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the final four deputy ministers, completing the 60-member ministerial team he pledged during his campaign.

He stated that he anticipated individuals found to be at fault receiving the proper disciplinary measures.

The president also disclosed that he had requested that the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) leadership create a program to enable security forces to understand the media as partners in the country’s growth rather than as enemies.

President Mahama urged the just sworn-in deputy ministers to serve with integrity and responsibility during his speech.

He informed them that they were now members of a group whose job it was to rebuild Ghana’s institutional and economic underpinnings.

He claimed that more significantly, they were now stewards of the Ghanaian people’s power, confidence, and expectations.

He emphasized that the ministerial mandate was a serious responsibility rather than a ceremonial position.

He asserted that leaders ought to be humble, honest, hardworking, and deeply responsible.

He went on to say that Ghana needed leaders who listen, act, and deliver, not ones who were distant, haughty, or inaccessible.
