President John Dramani Mahama called on residents who have yet to participate in the national clean-up exercise to come out and help the ongoing efforts to restore communities ravaged by the recent floods.
Yesterday, on the second day of the exercise in Alajo, the President made the appeal.

He commended the dedication of the locals who took part on the first day and assisted in clearing trash from their neighbourhoods.
He emphasised that in addition to clearing debris from drains, it is crucial to make sure that the trash collected during the operation is promptly removed and disposed of appropriately to keep it from re-entering waterways during rainy seasons.
President Mahama stated that the Ghana Armed Forces and other state agencies are aiding the removal of waste from impacted areas, but the scope of the cleanup necessitates ongoing efforts beyond the two-day exercise.
The exercise is a component of the government’s larger response to the effects of the recent floods as well as initiatives to safeguard communities and enhance sanitation.
