Kwame Agbodza, the minister of roads and highways, has defended the funding for the Dode Pepeso road’s restoration.
He states that the contract amount is still Ghs 683,902,957.69, not the Ghs 854 million that the Fourth Estate is promoting.
This clarification follows Suleman Braimah’s statement on Joy News in Accra that the contract price for the road’s rehabilitation exceeds the sum of money utilised for the road’s initial construction.
“Disregard any misinformation regarding a so-called contract that has been awarded at ghs120 million more than the actual price,” he stated. Let’s state unequivocally that Dodo Pepesu’s contract with Nkwanta is still worth Ghs 683,902,957.69.
“Relentless efforts to scandalise will not change our commitment to improve the road network in our beloved country,” the statement goes on.
