The National Plan of Action (NPA) for the Elimination of Human Trafficking in Ghana has been reviewed by the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) in order to improve its execution, efficacy, and clarity.
The Human Trafficking Secretariat (HTS) organised the review meeting, which included important representatives from the government, civil society, and development partners.
The Director of the Human Trafficking Secretariat, Madam Abena Annobea Asare, emphasised in her introductory remarks the significance of fortifying the Plan in order to effectively address changing human trafficking issues.
The main topics of discussion were improving the Terms of Reference (TOR) to guarantee their efficacy and clarity as well as verifying the Plan’s implementation schedule to ensure prompt and effective action.

The meeting also evaluated the current framework’s development and pinpointed areas where implementing agencies needed to improve their coordination, data management, and operational alignment.
The results of the study will direct the creation of a more robust National Plan of Action, offering a precise road map for interventions in collaboration, prevention, protection, and prosecution.
MoGCSP reiterated its dedication to spearheading national initiatives to end human trafficking and protect victims’ rights and reintegration, with an emphasis on women and children who are still the most vulnerable.
