The African Union’s Champion for Reparations, President John Dramani Mahama, was warmly welcomed back to Ghana yesterday, after leading a resolution at the UN General Assembly that acknowledged the Transatlantic Slave Trade as the worst crime against humanity.
President Mahama considered the moment’s significance after arriving, pointing out that it serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished through unity and purpose.
He reiterated that Ghana had once again shown moral leadership on the international scene and called the accomplishment a proud moment for Ghana, Africa, and people of African origin globally.
Along with government ministries, traditional leaders, and residents from all around the nation, the Chief of Staff and the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana led the event.
The Vice President praised President Mahama’s outstanding leadership and commitment to justice for guiding Africa’s motion on reparative justice to UN acceptance.
