Hajia Safia Mohammed, the Ghana School Feeding Program’s (GSFP) national coordinator, has publicly announced her retirement from her position, effective immediately.

She posted on Facebook, “Officially, I have resigned from my position as the National Coordinator for School Feeding with immediate effect”

Madam Safia took advantage of the occasion to express her gratitude to the national Secretariat’s management and employees for their invaluable assistance and experience throughout her time in office.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank the entire team for the valuable experience and support provided during my time in office” she said.

Following the death of Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah in 2023, Hajia Safia Mohammed assumed her position.

The School Feeding Program has been a vital pro-poor intervention, encouraging children to attend school and pursue further education while also ensuring that they are properly nourished.

The initiative provides meals to pupils in an effort to reduce hunger, improve focus, and increase academic achievement.

It is anticipated that in her new role, Hajia Safia Mohammed will implement creative tactics to increase the School Feeding Program’s influence and reach.

Through cooperation with local communities, parents, and schools, she hopes to increase the program’s efficacy in accomplishing its goal.

During her time in office, Madam Safia worked hard and implemented various positive changes to boost staff welfare and organizational performance with the committed management team.
