Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has opened up about his relationship with his second wife, Christy, revealing how their relationship began and how he supported her throughout her university education.
Speaking on GHOne TV on Thursday, August 28, 2026, Shatta Wale explained that a mutual friend introduced him to Christy while she was a Level 100 student at the University of Ghana, Legon.
According to the award-winning musician, he began taking care of Christy financially from the time they met and continued supporting her throughout her four years at the university.
“Christy, I watched her from Level 100 to Level 400 in school because when I met her she was in Level 100 in Legon,” Shatta Wale said.

During the interview, Shatta Wale was asked whether his financial support for Christy while she was in school played a role in her eventual decision to marry him.
The Ghanaian dancehall musician rejected the suggestion, explaining that his primary concern was ensuring that Christy was well cared for and performed well academically.
“I was taking good care of her, making sure she had good grades,” he stated.
Shatta Wale further disclosed that after completing her university education, Christy undertook her national service at Shaxi and later began working with one of his real estate businesses.
