In Sunyani, the BSTEM training program was officially launched by the Minister of Education.
This program represents a substantial national commitment aimed at strengthening STEM education from the ground up.
The Minister of Education would like to express his appreciation to Her Excellency Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who led the creation of a committee while serving as Minister of Education from 2012 to 2016.
The Basic Science and Mathematics Project was established as a result of the committee’s review, and it has now changed its name to the BSTEM Project.

With AI, coding, and robotics as essential elements of our updated curriculum at the basic level, our government is dedicated to modernizing education by transforming science and mathematics.
This program is essential to Ghana’s future because it will help us move away from rote memorization and toward inquiry-based learning, creativity, and problem-solving, giving every Ghanaian child the chance to reach their full potential.
The ministry is providing our teachers with cutting-edge training, digital resources, and creative teaching strategies to make STEM education interesting and approachable for our young students.
The foundation for upcoming scientists and inventors will be laid by this attempt, which will encourage curiosity.
According to the saying, a curriculum cannot be successful unless teachers receive up-to-date training that equips them with the skills, resources, and self-assurance necessary to teach STEM at all levels.
In honor of the late Defense Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu was also proud to announce the government’s plan to build a cutting-edge laboratory facility in Koforidua.
Together, let’s build a strong STEM foundation to safeguard Ghana’s future via creativity, tenacity, and quality.
