A possible location for the 500-bed state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital and Fertility Center promised by former President John Dramani Mahama in his 2024 election manifesto has been suggested by Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the main opposition National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) director of elections and information technology.

Dr. Boamah proposed that the projected hospital be built atop the National Cathedral project in Accra in a Facebook post dated August 24, 2024.

The recommendation from Dr. Boamah is a part of the continuing conversations on how to best use the resources that are already available to satisfy Ghanaians’ needs.

However, Mr. Mahama did not specify the location of the facility during his Saturday manifesto address; however, Dr. Boamah, a key figure in the Mahama campaign, is providing hints on social media.

He emphasized that the controversial plan to repurpose the National Cathedral might benefit the general population by supplying vital healthcare services to the Greater Accra Region.

As part of his larger plan for the nation, Mahama has committed to enhancing the healthcare system, which is consistent with this concept.
