Mr. Wilhelm Hugo, the Cluster Coordinator for Sustainable Economic Development in Ghana for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), made a courtesy call to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The two talked about issues related to migration and diaspora.

Ghana’s attempts to engage the diaspora and regulate migration were praised by Mr. Wilhelm Hugo.

He gave his word that GIZ will continue to work with Ghana for their mutual advantage. He also emphasized the benefits of Ghana and Germany’s policy cooperation.

Recalling the relationship between GIZ and Ghana, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) conveyed gratitude for the organization’s support of Ghana’s numerous sectors.

In addition to stressing the risks of irregular migration, the Honourable Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s ongoing commitment to strengthening participation in skills development and migration management through specific government initiatives to promote orderly, regular, and safe migration.
