Former Assin Central MP and flagbearer candidate Kennedy Agyapong has been charged by Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, with acts that he says have seriously damaged the party’s unity and reputation.

His remarks come after the party filed a petition accusing him of misbehaviour that included falsely accusing the General Secretary, defaming Kennedy Agyapong, and distorting the results of a disciplinary investigation.

The NPP has reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline and safeguarding the party’s integrity while requesting a thorough probe from the Disciplinary Committee.

In a statement dated September 30, 2025, Abronye stated that he is ready to testify before the party’s National Disciplinary Committee after receiving an invitation from Justin Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary.

He promised to present proof of Kennedy Agyapong’s alleged “antichrist actions and inactions,” which he said have gravely damaged the NPP’s unity and integrity.

Abronye demanded that the disciplinary hearing be open to the public and streamed live so that everyone involved could see what he said was Agyapong’s harmful behaviour.
