The Attorney General and Minister of Justice have been formally asked by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church to investigate the possibility of moving this year’s elections to a different day.

The church claims that this appeal, which has also been sent to the Electoral Commission, highlights the necessity of changing the non-entrenched Article 112(4).

The church feels compelled to move quickly because the election is set for December 7, which falls on a Sunday.

In particular, the church is in favor of changing the date, suggesting that it be moved to the first or second Tuesday in November.
