President Akufo-Addo has said that Professor Ama Atta Aidoo, who passed away last month, will have a state-assisted funeral.
When the late writer’s family called to officially inform him of his passing, President Akufo-Addo made the announcement.
The funeral rights, according to the writer’s family, will start on July 13 and expire on July 16, 2023.
At a quick ceremony to welcome the family, President Akufo-Addo remarked, “I’m happy that the arrangements you have made for her funeral will allow me to attend the laying in-state.”
“Even before you came here, I had decided that she should be given a state-assisted burial,” he continued. She deserves it, and it will allow me and the Ghanaian people to offer our final respects.
On May 31, 2023, the acclaimed author passed away at the age of 83.
