The Flood Mitigation Task Force inspected the Tesa Dam close to East Legon Boundary Road as part of continuing post-flood mitigation efforts to evaluate the effects of encroachment and determine the necessary solutions to restore the facility’s capacity.
The team noticed that encroachment had drastically reduced the dam’s size, with some people building unauthorised retention walls that interfered with the water retention facility’s ability to function naturally.
These buildings have been designated for demolition.

The crew also discovered that there were significant health and sanitary issues in a nearby, densely inhabited village that was mostly composed of wooden buildings.
As the government steps up efforts to lower flood risks and save people and property, the impacted regions have been designated for removal.
The inspection crew evaluated a significant storm drain along Teshie Bush Road close to ICGC Temple East as part of continuing post-flood mitigation efforts.
The visit was a component of a larger effort to pinpoint important drainage issues, enhance stormwater management, and put policies in place to safeguard infrastructure, people, and property against future flooding.
