An Accra High Court has ordered the immediate restoration of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited, reversing the controversial takeover of the property associated with Ghanaian business entrepreneur Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar.
Justice John-Mark Nuku Alifo, who presided over the case, ruled on Friday, August 21, 2026, that the takeover of the hotel on July 23 by Nii Amanor Dodoo and Cola Holdings Limited was unlawful and violated the rules of the Court of Appeal.
The court subsequently directed the respondents to immediately return possession of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel to Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited.
Court Orders Return of Hotel Assets and Records
As part of the ruling, the respondents have been ordered to hand over all keys, access codes, financial documents, books and monies taken during the July takeover.
The High Court also directed that the restoration of the property be carried out under the supervision of the High Court Registrar to ensure compliance with the order.
A joint inventory of the hotel, its assets and all other property currently in the respondents’ custody must also be conducted during the handover process.
Respondents Given Seven Days to Submit Accounts
Justice Nuku Alifo further ordered the respondents to provide comprehensive financial accounts covering the receivership within seven days.
The latest court ruling effectively overturns the July 23 takeover and restores Keningston Residential Partners 1 Limited’s control and possession of the No. 1 Oxford Street Hotel.
The hotel ownership and receivership dispute may, however, continue through further legal proceedings, depending on any subsequent action taken by the parties involved.
