The Ghana National Association of Concerned Nursing Trainees (GNACNT) has congratulated Vice President Dr. Bawumia for ensuring that their allowances are paid on schedule.

The group claims that receiving the allowance will relieve them of a substantial financial burden.

The GNACNT conveyed gratitude in a letter dated May 23, 2024, stating, “We extend our special thanks to Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia for his unwavering dedication to ensuring that trainees receive their due allowance. His leadership and commitment to the welfare of trainees are truly inspiring, and we are grateful for his tireless efforts in supporting the development of the next generation of professionals,”

This comes after the Vice President pledged that this week the students will begin getting their unpaid allowances.

While on a tour to the Bono Region earlier this month, Dr. Bawumia revealed that the government will disburse GH¢177 million to the Ministry of Health by Thursday, May 16, 2024, to settle outstanding debts owing to nursing trainees nationwide.
