Two suspects have been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service in Ayi Mensah, Greater Accra Region, for possessing eleven (11) huge compressed sacks of a material thought to be drugs.
During routine patrols on June 7, 2025, a team from the National Operations Department (NOD) captured Mathew Narkotey and Augustine Teye, the suspects.
When the suspected narcotic material was found hidden in a Mazda pickup truck with registration number GT 3490-P, the suspects were inside the vehicle.
For the sake of evidence, the car and the alleged drugs have been seized and are now being held at the Joint Operations Center.
While efforts are being made to arrest one Martey, whom the suspects have identified as the intended recipient of the package, both suspects are in police custody aiding with investigations.
