An forthcoming voter registration drive has been announced by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Beginning on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, the exercise will last through Monday, October 2, 2023. Every day, including Saturdays and Sundays, between 8am and 5pm, the workout will take place.
All 268 of the commission’s district offices will offer registration. The EC stated that the registration requirements are unchanged from those stated in the Public Elections Registration of Voters Regulation 201.
A person is eligible to register if they are a citizen of Ghana, at least 18 years old, of sound mind, and have not already registered as voters or are not banned from doing so by any laws currently in effect.
All candidates must show one of the Ghana Cards or the Ghana Passports to demonstrate their eligibility for registration.
Without any of the aforementioned forms of identification, applicants must present two witnesses who are currently on the voter registration rolls to attest to their citizenship.
