On Friday, November 14, 2025, the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, along with the Deputy Minister of Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Gyenfi, and some officials from both Ministries, expressed their condolences to the additional families affected by the recent stampede, following the earlier visits made by the Government’s Delegation to some grieving families in Adenta and Kpone Katamanso.

The two ministers’ visit was intended to reinforce the government’s solidarity at this difficult time and to offer condolences to the families of the prospective military recruits who sadly lost their lives.

The Minister gave encouraging words to the families the delegation visited in Mankessim, Kasoa, and Omanjor.

In addition, the families received financial support and a donation of refreshments as a sign of condolence and support during this difficult time.

Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reassured the families during the conversations that the government will offer all necessary assistance to help them deal with their loss and that the country is behind them.

She added that the Ministry will take the lead in offering survivors and impacted families psycho-social support services to help with their emotional healing.

“You are not alone. The Government and the people of Ghana stand with you, and we will support you through this journey of healing,” she stated.

Hon. Ernest Brogya Gyenfi, the Deputy Minister of Defence, disclosed that H. E. John Dramani Mahama has given the relatives of the El-Wak military recruitment stampede victims the chance to propose a replacement for enrolment in the army.

One of the stampede survivors was encouraged to return to the 37 Military Hospital for full treatment and recuperation before going home after the government delegation visited her home.
